Laitues pommées

Butterhead lettuce (var. capitata L. nidus tenerrima Helm) (Kopfsalat, Laitue pommé) A heading type with soft and tender leaves, eaten raw. It is most popular in England, France, the Netherlands and other western and central European countries (Ryder 1986). In recent decades many cultivars have been bred and grown in the USA (Ryder 1999b; Mikel 2007).
